Every girl loves. . . DIAMONDS! But what makes them even more desirable than say a Red Ruby or Deep Green Emerald? Time to stir up her collection of diamonds with an engagement ring that she will be showing off for years!

Sapphires are mostly found in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon and these are often a lovely distinctive cornflower blue shade.

Emeralds are the most desirable of colored stones. They are said to have been obtained from the “schists of Cleopatra’s mines.” (www.mineralgallery.co.za). Holding the  ”Wow” factor with the color it radiates as the center of attention.

The Ruby is one of the rarest stones, even more so than certain diamonds. They are the most expensive of the colored stones. One of the most desirable and sort of strange color names for the Ruby is “pigeon’s blood”; “a pure red with a hint of blue”  (www.gemselect.com)

Besides colored stones, another way to grab some attention is the shape of the ring. There are engagement rings shaped as flowers which is always an interesting conversation starter!
